Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2 of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Skipper Eoin Morgan said that it has worked for them in the last few games playing here in Sharjah and would hope that it would do the same on Wednesday, adding that there might be dew later on.

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant said that he would have bowled first as well but mentioned that they didn't want to think too much about the toss. Pant said that they don't want to change anything much about the last game apart from one or two overs.

Pant felt that they were a batter short in the last game, hence they welcomed the return of star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis in place of Tom Curran while KKR went unchanged.
