Mumbai Indians have won the toss and chosen to bat first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match No 9 of IPL 2021. This is the first time a captain has opted to bat first in the nine games so far in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

While Rohit Sharma said that it was hard to predict how the pitch was going to play but mentioned that it looked a little sluggish. While, skipper David Warner said that Sunrisers would have batted first as well, looking at the last game where they failed to chase down 149 runs.

While Mumbai made just one change bringing in right-arm Kiwi pacer Adam Milne for 20-year old Marco Jansen. Sunrisers Hyderabad made some wholesale changes, as many as four in just their third game of the 14th edition.
