IPL 2021: Jonny Bairstow destroys MI bowlers, breaks drinks fridge glass

Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batsman Jonny Bairstow had raced to 40 off just 18 balls hitting three fours and four sixes during the powerplay.

Jonny Bairstow was back at the opener's slot and back at destroying the bowling attack. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman, who was batting at No 4 in his side's first couple of games returned to his favourable position and just gave an explosive start to his side.

SRH made four changes to their line-up and one of those changes was Wriddhiman Saha sitting out, which meant that Bairstow was back at the top and he made an immediate impact. They started cautiously with 5/0 in first two overs, but the taps opened after that from the third over where the right-hander took Trent Boult apart.

The first ball four, another four on the second, the next ball a six. However, it wasn't a normal beyond the boundary shot, Bairstow hit between long-off boundary and straight one and straight into SRH's dugout and it directly hit the drinks refrigerator and shattered the glass. After that shot, Bairstow sent the ball for another boundary taking 18 runs off that over.

Bairstow continued his marauding form and hit Adam Milne for a couple of sixes to get the SRH side off to a flier, which was much-needed on the Chepauk track, which gets slower and slower as the innings progresses.
