Mumbai Indians have won the toss and chosen to bowl first against Punjab Kings in Match No 42 of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Skipper Rohit Sharma said that there was no particular reason for them to bowl first, it was a team plan and the wicket looked good for batting.

Sharma reckoned that they have made mistakes and understand that they haven't played to their potential and thus made some difficult changes as they dropped middle-order batter Ishan Kishan and pacer Adam Milne bringing in Saurabh Tiwary and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Punjab Kings skipper, KL Rahul, on the other hand, said that they know that they have to play the pressure situations better and when they are ahead of the game, they need to close them out. The Kings made a solitary change bringing in Mandeep Singh in place of Mayank Agarwal, who had a stiff neck.
