For Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) there was a last-minute change as Manish Pandey was leading the side in place of Kane Williamson. Pandey told that Williamson had an elbow niggle while pacer Bhuneshwar Kumar had a finger injury he sustained in the last game.

SRH made a couple of changes but Warner still remained out of the side as they brought in off-spinning all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and Pandey came in as well.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, too made a couple of changes as well bringing in all-rounder Krunal Pandya and veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, who was making his debut for the defending champions, in place of Saurabh Tiwary and Jayant Yadav.
