One of the most successful sides in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who had a below-par season in the 2020 edition, will be looking to improve upon their last year's performance starting with the game against the last year's runners-up Delhi Capitals (DC).

Although, CSK have had the advantage over DC in the last five games having won three out of them. However, there's a catch as Delhi Capitals won both the games in the 2020 season.

Head-to-head: 23 games, CSK have won 15, DC 8

The Chennai Super Kings and the Delhi Capitals have faced each other 23 times in the 13 seasons of the IPL since 2008 and the men in yellow have had the upper hand with 15 wins with a winning percentage of 65, while DC have won only 8 out of those 23 encounters.

In the last year's IPL, the Capitals won both games. While one was a one-sided affair with the Delhi side winning it comfortably by 44 runs. The second game was a thriller in which the Capitals prevailed owing to three sixes in the last over of Ravindra Jadeja, by Axar Patel when they needed 17 runs off the last over, after a smashing hundred by Shikhar Dhawan.

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina lead the most runs list

CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the leading run-getter in the CSK vs DC games, scoring 547 runs. Suresh Raina, another one of the most consistent players for CSK is second on the list with 498 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin the leading wicket-taker

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who has played for Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2015 is the leading wicket-taker in the CSK vs DC games, who is now plying his trade for the Delhi Capitals. Ashwin leads the list with 17 wickets, followed by Dwayne Bravo with 14 wickets.

Out of the 23 games between the two sides, the chasing team has won 11 times while the team batting first has won 12 games.
