It was a Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja show when the Chennai Super Kings took the field on Friday in their second game of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Punjab Kings. While Chahar started with a bang hitting the top of Mayank Agarwal's off-stump, it was Jadeja, who took the centre stage from the next over.

First, his rocket-arm with a direct hit caught Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul short of the crease then he flew like a bird to his right at his favourite fielding position at backward point to grab a stunning catch to see the back of dangerous Chris Gayle.

Chahar, who was the 'Player of the Match' for his brilliant opening spell and the figures of 4/13 in his four overs heaped praise on the all-rounder saying he is one of the best fielders in the world, according to him.

"In the first over, when the catch when to Ruturaj (Gaikwad), it was a quick one, only Jaddu (Jadeja) could have taken that. So, I was like he should have been there. He is one of the best [fielders] in the world. He has taken so many catches on my bowling, so I just want 11 Jaddus on the field," Chahar said in the post-match presentation.

Chahar led the way as his spell helped CSK restrict Punjab to a modest total of 106, which they chased down with 26 balls to spare. This was Chennai's first win in the ongoing season after facing a loss in their first game at the hands of the Delhi Capitals.
