IPL 2018: RCB vs RR- Sanju Samson's 92 powers Rajasthan to 19-run victory

Bangalore and Rajasthan crossed swords in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday in an important match on Sunday. 

What's happened in Bangalore v/s Rajasthan match:

19:30

Rajasthan have defeated Bangalore by 19 runs. Sanju Samson's innings powered the double Rs to a great score. Any score looked chaseable when Virat Kohli was going all guns blazing but Rajasthan bowlers specially Shreyas Gopal did really well to keep Bangalore in check. Mandeep Singh added some lusty blows in the last few overs to notch a 47* off 25 balls. 

But in the end, 271 proved too big a total to chase.

Rajasthan have almost wrapped this one up. Bangalore require another 48 runs with 5 wickets and 12 balls remaining. While, Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar have kept runs coming, it seems RCB need a strong no.7 in their batting order. 

Rajasthan's local talent have proved to be difference in the match.

Shreyas Gopal has turned the match on its head. The Bangalore local took the wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in back-to-back overs. Both were caught in deep trying to hit shorter deliveries. RCB now require 102 runs from 42 balls with 6 wickets in hand.

It seems Virat Kohli is saying- if Sanju Samson can do it, I can do it better. The RCB captain has raced to a half century. His strike is over 200 (56 runs off 27 balls). Rajasthan have sent back Quinton de Kock but it has only brought AB de Villiers at the crease. RR needs more wickets and fast. After 9 overs, Bangalore are already 91/2.

No score is safe from the batting might of RCB, Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock have taken Bangalore to super start. They lost Brendon McCullam in the very first over. However, it has been all RCB since then. They have scored 64 in the powerplay.

Absolute Carnage! Sanju Samson has taken Rajasthan to 217/4. He blasted 92 off just 45 balls. He got good support from Jose Butler and Rahul Tripathi. Samson hit 10 sixes and two fours during his innings.

Rajasthan have posted a good score but Bangalore too have a good batting line-up.

Ben Stoke - the most expensive player in this year's auction- has departed for 27 off 21 balls. However, Sanju Samson is still there. Rajasthan have managed to keep the run rate over 8.5 so far. They are 112 for 3 after 13 overs. But they would need some big hits in the last overs if they intent to post a challenging total against the batting might of Bangalore.

Bangalore have struck back with two wickets. Rajasthan have lost both their openers. Rahane fell after a breezing 36 off 20 balls while D'Arcy Short (11 off 17) didn't look comfortable at all. Rajasthan's in-form batsman Sanju Samson is at the crease. Bangalore's attack led by Yuzvendra Chahal will look to keep things tight. Rajasthan are 63/2 after 8 overs.

Ajinkya Rahane has given his team a great start here. He has raced away to 31 off just 17 balls. D'Arcy Short is still trying to get in the groove but at least he is not run out yet (he was run out in both earlier matches). Rajasthan are 43/0 after 5 overs.
