The current season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) has arrived at the knockout stage.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday confirmed their place in the IPL 2018 play-offs with win against Surnrisers Hyderabad. With SRH and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) having already made it to the play-offs, there is only one spot open for the remaining teams.

Delhi Daredevils were already out of the equation. RCB lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday to be knocked out of contention.

Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals are the teams will a chance to grab the available place.

While MI and KXIP play their final league matches on Sunday, RR will be hoping for the results to end in their favour to qualify for the play-offs.

Here are the two matches to played on Sunday:

Match 55: Delhi Daredevils v/s Mumbai Indians- Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi (4:00 PM)

Match 56: Chennai Super Kings v/s Kings XI Punjab- MCA Stadium, Pune (8:00 PM)

Let's also take a look at the IPL 2018 points table after Saturday's games:

IPL 2018 Points Table Team Standings
Teams Matches Won Lost Tied NR Points Net Run Rate
Sunrisers Hyderabad (Q) 13 9 4 0 0 18 +0.319
Chennai Super Kings (Q) 13 8 5 0 0 16 +0.220
Kolkata Knight Riders 14 8 6 0 0 16 -0.070
Rajasthan Royals 14 7 7 0 0 14 -0.250
Mumbai Indians 13 6 7 0 0 12 +0.384
Royal Challengers Bangalore 14 6 8 0 0 12 +0.129
Kings XI Punjab 13 6 7 0 0 12 -0.490
Delhi Daredevils 13 4 9 0 0 8 -0.288

MUMBAI INDIANS (P 13, W 6, L 7, Points 12, Net Run Rate 0.384)

The equation is simple for the defending champions. MI need to beat Delh Daredevils in their last league game. Their net run rate is vastly superior to KXIP and RR. Unless Punjab win their last match by a astonishingly huge margin, a win should be enough for MI to go through.

How MI will qualify: If they beat Delhi Daredevils

RAJASTHAN ROYALS (P 14, W 7, L 7, Points 14, Net Run Rate -0.250)

RR can do nothing but wait and watch. The only chance they have of advancing is if MI lose to DD on Sunday. Their win against RCB has put them in fourth place after Saturday, but they have a NRR of -0.250 and MI winning the match would mean that they have to drop out of top-4. If MI lose then they would hope that Punjab does not beat Chennai by more than 53 runs or with more than 38 balls to spare.

How RR will qualify: If Delhi Daredevils beat MI and Punjab does not beat Chennai by more than 53 runs or with more than 38 balls to spare.

KINGS XI PUNJAB (P 13, W 6, L 7, Points 12, Net Run Rate -0.490)

KXIP need to beat CSK by a huge margin and hope that DD beat MI. Rajasthan are slightly ahead of Punjab in net run rate, so Punjab would need a big win to overtake them. If MI lose than Punjab will have to beat Chennai by more than 53 runs or with more than 38 balls to spare to make it top 4.

How KXIP will qualify: If Delhi Daredevils beat MI and Punjab beat Chennai by more than 53 runs or with more than 38 balls to spare.
