'I am just very happy that Mumbai is not going to the finals..Really happy,' Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta was caught saying in a viral video on Sunday. The actress has now offered a tepid explanation.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner Preity Zinta issued a clarification on Monday after a video of her celebrating Mumbai Indians' (MI) failure to reach the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 playoffs went viral.
In a video shared by a fan on social media, Zinta could be seen telling a another KXIP member how happy she was that defending champions MI got knocked out of the T20 tournament. Although there's no audio, it's quite clear what the seasoned Bollywood actress is saying: "I am just very happy that Mumbai is not going to the finals..Really happy."

On Monday, Zinta took to Twitter and issued a clarification on the viral video. "Relax ! Only if Mumbai was “Knocked Out” Punjab would have had a chance of getting to the play offs but RR was happier we were Knocked out by CSK cuz they got to go to the playoffs ! When you leave it till the end one has to not just see your wins but other teams losses as well," wrote the 43-year-old.

KXIP had to win their last game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday by at least 53 runs to go into the playoffs. However, they didn't have much chance in a reasonably low-scoring affair.
Delhi Daredevils (DD) had done a favour to Punjab by knocking out Mumbai with an 11-run win in the first match of the day as it kept Punjab in the hunt. However, KXIP's hopes were wiped off when they were restricted to just 153 in the first innings. In the end CSK won the match by 5 wickets.
Mumbai too failed to make it to the playoffs of IPL 2018 as they lost to DD by 11 runs in a thrilling encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
