India vs West Indies: Hanuma Vihari's ton and a fifty helps him join Sachin Tendulkar in elite list

India vs West Indies: Hanuma Vihari became the first Indian batsman since Sachin Tendulkar in 1990 to score a hundred and a fifty in the same Test while batting at No. 6 or lower.

In the series against Windies, Vihari followed up his classy 111 with the well-paced half-century in the second to join an elite list of Indian batsmen.

Vihari became only the 5th Indian batsman overall to achieve the said feat.

India great Polly Umrigar was the first batsman to achieve this milestone. He managed 56 in the 1st innings and 172 not out in the 2nd during a Test match against West Indies in 1962.

Tiger Pataudi was second when he achieved the feat against England in 1967. He scored 64 in the 1st innings and 148 in the 2nd. ML Jaisimha had hit 68 and 119 not out vs England in 1968.

Sachin Tendulkar too batted at No. 6 against England in 1990 and hit 68 which was followed with 119 not out in Manchester.
