Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has expressed his desire to see Shreyas Iyer batting at No.4 for India as he believes that the Delhi Capitals skipper key to solving the national side's longstanding middle-order problems.

Iyer is currently making a comeback to the first team after being dropped last year. Iyer has been in exceptional form for his IPL side and also for India A team. But the right-hander will definitely get his opportunity on Sunday during India's clash against West Indies to claim his spot as a regular.

On his online column Gambhir wrote, "India, on the other hand, have a little bit of a headache in trying to give everyone a game. Shreyas Iyer was scheduled to bat at number four in the previous game which got rained off. He will get another chance in Trinidad."

"I have spent time with him in the Delhi Capitals' dressing room. He has the setup and the works to succeed at this. I just hope he gets a consistent run rather than a truncated one."

"India have pocketed the T20I series against the West Indies and are favourites to do the same in ODIs and Test matches too. It is not their fault if West Indies don't get their act together," Gambhir added.

India's 2011 World Cup hero then went on to add, "If I put myself in the WI camp, the first thing I would do is to make fast, bouncy wickets for all three formats. Yes, India have more than a decent pace attack but if the hosts are to have any chance at all, it is on good fast wickets. Right now they are dishing out batting pitches, which is exactly what India want."

"Among the bowlers, I would like to see Mohammad Shami let loose on the opposition. He is redeeming himself in white-ball cricket. West Indies cricket now leaves you sad and somewhat angry. The scene is complete with empty stands," Gambhir on Mohammad Shami's bowling.
