Virat Kohli on Saturday became the fastest Indian batsman to 1,000 Test runs in Australia during Day 3 of the ongoing first Test between both the sides at the Adelaide Oval.

The Indian skipper needed just 18 innings to reach the 1,000-run mark Down Under.

Overall, Kohli became the fourth Indian to do so after Sachin Tendulkar (1809), VVS Laxman (1236) and Rahul Dravid (1143).

Kohli also has the best average (59.10) in Australia in comparisons to these legendary former cricketers.

Earlier, when Josh Hazlewood dismissed the set batsman KL Rahul in the 25th over for 44 runs off 67 balls, it meant it was Kohli's turn to walk in.

When Kohli made his way into the middle, he was booed by the Adelaide crowd.

The Delhi cricketer has been seen enjoying to the fullest so far in the Test.

Kohli was his usual animated self on Day two of the at the Adelaide Oval on Friday as he celebrated every Australian wicket with enthusiasm.

Australian head coach Justin Langer said he "loved seeing that passion" but said Australia players would be judged differently if they did the same.

"If we did that at the moment we'd be the worst blokes in the world. It's a fine line, isn't it? That's the truth of it. But I love seeing the passion," Langer added.

Earlier in the first session, the rain kept interrupting the match and that would have irked the players but there was one man who ensured he kept himself entertained.

The Indian captain was seen dancing while fielding at the slip to keep himself entertained.

The official Twitter handle of Cricket Australia took to Twitter and posted the video, captioned, " Virat’s loving it… #AUSvIND."
