IND vs WI, 2nd T20I: Lendl Simmons' unbeaten knock of 67 runs guides West Indies to eight-wicket win over India

Lendl Simmons' top innings guided West Indies to an eight-wicket win with nine balls to spare over India in the second T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium on Sunday.

Simmons' unbeaten knock of 67 runs and formed a lethal partnership with Nicholas Pooran of 61 runs.

With this victory, the tourists have now levelled the series by 1-1.

Pooran's 18-ball 38 also was key to West Indies' win.

Opener Evin Lewis also played a blockbuster knock of 40 runs before Washington Sundar dismissed him in the 10th over.

Shimron Hetmyer came in and added 23 runs off 14 deliveries before Virat Kohli took a jaw-dropping catch to award Ravindra Jadeja with his only wicket of the match.

Earlier, Team India managed to post a score of 170/7 at the end of their allocated 20 overs.

Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma departed early after giving the home side a decent start.

Khary Pierre dismissed Rahul for 11 runs in the fourth over to hand the away side a good start.

All-rounder Shivam Dube came in and joined Rohit in the middle and started batting with real venom as India ending the power play on 42/1.

The duo knitted together a partnership of 32-run for the second wicket. Windies pacer Jason Holder soon dismissed Sharma in the eighth over as his 15-run knock came to an end.

Skipper Virat Kohli came in kept the scoreboard ticking at a constant speed with Dube and engendered together a 41-run partnership.

Dube smashed three sixes to Kieron Pollard in the ninth over of the secured 26 runs from the over.

The 26-year-old also smashed his maiden half-century in T20I cricket. He stormed to the landmark in just 27 deliveries.

However, he was soon dismissed by Hayden Walsh in the 11th over after Shimron Hetmyer took an easy catch, reducing India to 97/3.

Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and Kohli formed a 23-run partnership before Kohli was dismissed by Kesrick Williams for 19 runs in the 14th over.

Shreyas Iyer and Pant's fifth-wicket partnership lasted for just 24-run before Walsh dismissed Iyer for 10 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja came in and added only nine runs before Williams bowled him in the 19th over.

Washington Sundar fell for a duck to Sheldon Cottrell as the Windies managed to restrict the 'Men In Blue' to 170/7.
