Team India skipper Virat Kohli once again became the highest run-scorer in the shortest format of the game on Tuesday (January 7) during India's 2nd T20I of the three-match series against Sri Lanka in Indore, surpassing Rohit Sharma on the runs tally.

Going into the match, Kohli just needed one run to surpass Sharma as both of them had 2,633 runs under their belt.

Virat played an unbeaten innings of 30 runs which helped him achieve the feat.

Rohit Sharma is not part of the 'Men In Blue' squad for their series against the Lankans but will return to the lineup for India's three-match ODI series against Australia later this month.

With this victory, the 'Men In Blue' also secured a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
