Ever since making his India debut against Bangladesh during the first T20I in Delhi, Mumbai cricketer Shivam Dube is being compared to former national team star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh for his abilities perform with the ball and bat equally during matches.
However, Dube's debut match did not go according to plans as he scored just one run and was given just three deliveries to bowl.
Due to Shivam and Yuvraj sharing similar techniques while playing, its easy for the fans to draw similarities with the World Cup-winning cricketers.
But Yuvraj expressed his thoughts about it and said that it's just the start of Dube's career and definitely not the right time to make such comparisons.
"Let the guy start his career first, and after a while when he reaches a certain level, then you start comparing him with someone."
"I don't think he should be compared to me. He should make his own name. He has the talent," Yuvraj told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai.
The 26-year-old first caught headlines after he smashed five consecutive maximums for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
On Saturday, Dube spoke on the 'Chahal TV' and said: "I just want to continue performing well. I am playing for the country now so it is a very proud moment."
"There will be more eyes on me and so I need to work hard and continue the good work," he added.
