In the ongoing Test match between India and Bangladesh, Ravichandran Ashwin achieved a milestone by becoming the fastest to reach 250 wickets at home.

He became the third Indian bowler and 10th overall bowler to add his name into another elite list.

IND vs BAN, 1st Test: R Ashwin labels Bangladesh's move to bat first upon winning toss as 'brave' at Indore

After the end of Day 1, in the post-match conference, the pacer was questioned by a journalist, however, Ashwin took time to answer as he was bowled by the "clean and pure" Hindi the journalist spoke in.

The journalist asked, "What is the behaviour of the new and old pink balls during practice session so far and will the pink ball see an increase in the ratio of outright results?

Ashwin's laughed at first and spoke in a bit of Hindi and English as he said, "With a lot of hard work, I actually managed to start speaking in Hindi. Over the years, my Hindi has gotten better, but I have not heard a question in such "clean and pure" Hindi! So, congrats to you for that. I am actually still thinking what the question was".

He continued saying, "Having said that, I think the next Test, the pink-ball game, is a great welcoming sign. As a Test-playing country, it was necessary for India since people who miss cricket because of work will come and watch.

"Obviously with the pink ball, there are potentially more challenges. The ball will have more lacquer and will move more in the next match. Personally I think it's the right direction we've taken, hopefully, the Test match will be a historic moment and start of many more to come".

Ashwin's records speak for himself as he became the joint-fastest bowler (in terms of the number of matches - 42) to complete 250 Test wickets at home.

The list was held by legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who also took 42 home Tests to reach 250.

He is fifth on the list of bowlers (357 wickets) with the most number of dismissals in this decade; a list spearheaded by England’s James Anderson, who has claimed 427 wickets in 105 Tests.
