The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina arrived in Kolkata to attend the first-ever day-night Test between India and Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

The newly elected Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly received the visiting dignitary at the Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.

After the scheduled welcome ceremony at the airport, the prime minister visited the Hotel Taj Bengal where she will be residing during her short visit.

Later on, the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and PM Hasina visited the Eden Gardens Stadium and rang the ceremonial bell at about 12:30 p.m.

Sheikh Hasina, later on, thanked the BCCI president for inviting her and she is very happy to be able to witness this grand event.

Bangladesh PM said, "I came here on invitation of Sourav Ganguly. It's the first ever pink-ball Test b/w India &Bangladesh,so I came to witness the occasion. I'd like to thank the Indian audience."

"I get a lot of support and love here. India is important neighbour of Bangladesh," ANI quoted Hasina saying.

Bangladesh won the toss and got off to a very poor start as they lost half of their batting side before lunch. They failed to recover from that early blow and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were soon all out for 106.

Indian pacers were in top form as Ishant Sharma bagged five wickets with Umesh Yadav picking up three and Mohammed Shami securing two for their troubles.

On the chase, India lost both of their openers early too. With Mayank Agarwal scoring 14 runs and Rohit Sharma hitting 21 before losing their wickets to Al-Amin and Ebadat Hossain
