Team India finished day one of the first day-night Test against Bangladesh with the score on 174/3 here at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

The home side currently has a lead of 68 runs over the tourists going into the second day of the second Test.

India got off to a sticky start after losing both openers, Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, early on.

The pair though managed to put on 25 runs inside five overs before Al-Amin Hossain dismissed Agarwal (14).

After his departure, Rohit and Chesteshwar Pujara knitted together a smart partnership and ensured no more loss of wickets before the tea break.

As soon as play resumed after the break, Rohit (21) was given LWB after Ebadat Hossain's quicker delivery caught him off guard and India were reduced to 43/2 in the 13th over.

However, skipper Virat Kohli came in and steadied India's ship by forming a partnership with Pujara as the pair kept the scoreboard ticking at a rapid pace.

In the ongoing match, Kohli also became the first Indian skipper to smash 5000 runs.

In the 36th over, Pujara secured his 24th half-century after some tip class batting but soon threw away his wicket in the 40th over while batting on 55, as Ebadat picked up his first wicket of the day and left India on 137/3.

However, skipper Kohli soon after this secured his 23rd half-century in Test cricket.

Rahane then joined Kohli as the duo boosed India to a score of 174/3 without losing any more wickets. Kohli and Rahane both remained unbeaten on 59 and 23 respectively.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh got off to the worst start possible and lost half of their batting side with just 38 runs on the board.

Shadman Islam (29), Imrul Kayes (4), Mominul Haque (0), Mohammad Mithun (0) and Mushfiqur Rahim (0) all were outclassed by the Indian pacers and fell quickly.

Umesh Yadav picked up three wickets out of five with Mohammad Shami and Ishant Sharma bagging one each.

Mahmudullah and Liton Das knitted together a brief 22-run innings, before Ishant sent Mahmudullah (6) back to the pavilion in the 20th over and Bangladesh was reduced to 60/6.

Before the lunch break, Das caught Shami's bouncer on the head and was retired hurt on 24 runs as Bangladesh went into the break at 73/6.

After the break, Ishant picked up the seventh wicket for India and removed Ebadat Hossain (1) in the 24th over.

Das' concussion substitute Mehidy Hasan and Abu Jayed knocked together a 16-run stand after which Ishant picked up his fourth wicket with Mehidy (8) giving away an easy catch to Cheteshwar Pujara.

Sharma soon got his fifth wicket on the day as he dismissed Nayeem Hasan (19) to leave Bangladesh at 105/9.

Shami then came in and bagged the final wicket as Bangladesh were bundled up for 106 in 30.3 overs.
