IND vs BAN: India 4 wickets away from a win as pacers rattle Bangladesh's batting order

Bangladesh survived till the end of Day 2, as they continue to trail by 89 runs on Day 2 of the second Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The Tigers finished the day on 152/6 and Indian pacers rattle their batting line-up.

Bangladesh were reduced to 7/2 in its second innings at tea break - all thanks to Ishant Sharma.

They went further down the rabbit hole and found themselves 13/4 right at the start of the third session.

While Bangladesh were still trailing by 228 runs, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah took responsibility and provided some stability. The duo formed a 69-run partnership, but unfortunately, Mahmudullah (39 from 41 balls) went off retired hurt.

Mehidy Hasan came in place of Mahmudullah and went on to help Mushfiqur. But, soon after that Hasan fell after being caught in the cordon (15 from 22 balls) and subsequently, Taijul Islam departed too.

Ishant Sharma ended the day on 4/39 after his first innings fifer, while Umesh Yadav registered a 2/40.

India declared its first innings at 347/9 for a 241-run lead over Bangladesh’s 106. 

Indian skipper Virat Kohli top-scored with a brilliant 136-run knock, his 27th Test century. The 32-year-old scored his 20th Test century as captain and became the first Indian batsman to score a century in a day/night Test. 

Kohli was dismissed by Taijul Islam’s leaping catch at fine leg off Ebadat Hossain (3/91). 

India's lower order then got dismissed as a pack of cards as Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav got out for ducks against the new pink ball. Al-Amin Hossain shined for Bangladesh after finishing the first innings with figures of 3/85.

Earlier, after resuming the day on 174/3 with Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane at the crease, India went to lunch after scoring 289/4.
