Team India is leaving no stone unturned for the 2nd Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia starting on Friday after suffering a humiliating defeat in the first Test in Adelaide.

The visitors were seen doing an unusual practice session on Thursday as the whole group could be seen doing a training drill that somewhat resembled a wrestling bout with a pair of two players each, trying to outdo each other in a test of strength.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the first to arrive at the practice sessions and had a prolonged one at that. Jadeja is coming back from the concussion injury and a hamstring strain, he suffered during the first T20I against Australia and hasn't played since.

He is on the recovery path and was put through a fitness test on Thursday as he ran with the bat in hand between the wickets to be fit in time for the Boxing Day Test.

Staying with the Indian contingent as a net bowler, the left-arm pacer T Natarajan bowled well in the nets and consistently beat the outside edges of the bats of stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Batsmen KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant too had prolonged sessions, who are most likely to feature in the Melbourne game.

After which the think tank of India, consisting of head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Vikram Rathour were seen exchanging notes and the outcomes of the long day at the practice. The trio was then seen in serious discussions with Ajinkya Rahane, who will be leading India in the next three tests in the absence of regular captain Virat Kohli, who has flown back to India to be with his wife and actor Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.

Later, Shastri was also seen in discussion with opening batsman Prithvi Shaw, who has been at the centre of everyone's attention due to a couple of low scores and a dropped catch in the first game.
