The U19 India lads started their World Cup campaign with a brilliant win over Sri Lanka and are now dominating over Japan in their second match.

The 'Boys in Blue' bowled out debutants Japan for merely 41 runs in 22.5 overs at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein after electing to field first.

This is the joint second-lowest score in the history of the Under 19 World Cup.

Kartik Tyagi initially set the tone upfront with the new ball by picking back-to-back wickets in the fifth over. Soon he was helped by Ravi Bishnoi, who ran through Japan's top-and-middle order - thanks to two successive double-wicket maidens.

As for the Japanese side, Max Clements and Kento Ota Dobell shared a 13-run stand for the eighth wicket - highest in the innings.

However, the partnership was short-lived as Akash Singh applied the finishing touches by scalping the last two wickets.

India are yet to bat and will look to achieve the target as early as possible.

Earlier, India had cruised to a 90-run victory over Sri Lanka in their opening group league encounter.

They rode on an impressive batting performance which was topped by a disciplined bowling effort.

As for Japan, they were lucky to have garnered a point after their first match against New Zealand was washed out in Potchefstroom on Saturday.
