In the aftermath of the targeted killings of civilians in Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists, Union Minister Giriraj Singh recently said that the match between India and Pakistan at the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 should not be played under the current circumstances. The Cabinet Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj added that the issue should be discussed again.

Speaking to the media after offering his condolences on the demise of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s mother in Rajasthan, Giriraj Singh said, “The face of terrorism will now be made clear. In the coming times, congress will be left traceless on Indian soil. The match between India and Pakistan in the coming days needs to be given another thought in the wake of the attacks happening on Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. The relations are not good right now.”

Giriraj Singh came down hard on the Congress accusing the party of engaging in petty politics in the country by highlighting the Lakhimpur issue and not saying anything about the killings on Hindus in Kashmir.

Earlier, the union minister had called senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Lakhimpur Kheri ‘political tourism’.

India is scheduled to play Pakistan next Sunday on October 24 at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE.
