Joe Root's England team defeated India by an innings and 76 runs in the third Test at Headingley to level the five-match series 1-1.
England skipper Joe Root can do no wrong this year. Having scored 1398 runs in Test matches this year, Root notched up another huge milestone in his career becoming England's most successful Test captain with 27 wins after his side packed India's bags with a win by an innings and 76 runs.

Root, who is just behind Alastair Cook in the number of matches as England captain has now surpassed former captain Michael Vaughan as the England skipper with most wins in Test matches. Vaughan had 26 wins to his name in the 51 games he captained England in Test matches with a fantastic win percentage of 50.98.
Cook has captained England the most, yet. However, in 59 matches Cook's team won only 24 games and thus he is behind Vaughan's tally. Cook and his former opening partner Andrew Strauss have the same number of wins and now are at joint-third place.
Indian team fought back nicely on the third day of the Test match, losing only two wickets on the whole day after batting for 80 overs, however, their whole hard work counted for nothing as they collapsed from 215/2 to 278 all out in the first session on Day 4.
Ollie Robinson took his second five-wicket haul of the series as he was named the 'Player of the Match' for taking seven wickets in the game.
Earlier, Root slammed his 23rd Test century in the game as his innings of 121 runs was key to England posting a score above 400 and batting India out of the game. This was Root's sixth century this year and third in this series as he crossed the 500-run mark in the series with two matches still to go.
