Team India wrapped up England's innings early in the day with only nine runs being added and scored 34 runs in the first session.
After being run ragged by England for the first two days, the Indian team finally had a better session of play on the morning of Day 3, however, as the session came to a close it was the home side again with the smiles as after surviving 18.5 overs the Indian team were given a big blow on the last ball before the lunch break as Craig Overton dismissed KL Rahul.
The first job for the day for India was to get the England team bowled out early, which they did. Mohammed Shami dismissed Craig Overton as his fourth scalp of the innings, while Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Ollie Robinson as England were bowled out for 432 runs, with a mammoth 354-run lead.
India had to have not just sessions but days to their name for them to come back into this game. They almost had a perfect start before Bairstow's outstanding grab took them one small step closer.
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul both were watchful and left more than they played. With the gray skies hovering over, the ball was doing a bit more than it did on Day 2, thus they had to be patient. Rahul after surviving a close LBW call, didn't seem like in the rhythm he was in the first two tests and finally, an edge was carried owing to a brilliant piece of fielding.
Overton posed the most problems for Rahul in the morning session and he produced the edge. A length delivery in that channel of uncertainty outside the off-stump and Rahul had to play at it, but could only get a thick outside edge and the ball flew towards the first slip, where skipper Joe Root was standing. However, Bairstow at second slip threw his left hand towards the ball and plucked it out of thin air as it stuck and the England team was in jubilation.
WHAT A CATCH!!
