Rain and English weather have slowly started to become synonymous as almost no tournament or series can go uninterrupted in the summer of cricket in England and Wales. Whether it was Champions Trophy in 2013, 2017 or the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019 or the Test matches every year, or the ongoing inaugural The Hundred.
Now, the first day of the ongoing first Test match between England and India at Trent Bridge somehow remained free of any interruptions as it was sunny for the most part with a few clouds peeping in here or there. But since then it has been cricket interrupting the rains and not vice-versa.
Only 33.4 overs of play could take place on the second day and 49.2 overs of play on the third day. The forecast for the fourth day looked more than decent when the match had started on Wednesday but it seems like that prediction has gone somewhere like the sun in Nottingham.
While the morning has been cloudy, there are chances of rain and thunderstorms in the latter part of the day and stop-start day beckons for the third time in a row.
Dinesh Karthik, who has become Cricket Twitter's unofficial weatherman in the UK posted a picture of a couple of hours saying that it was looking good for a timely start but rain will play some part as the day goes on.

England openers got through the day unscathed at 25/0 after India gained a 95-run lead in the first innings and will be looking for a good first session and reduced the deficit and start thinking about the fourth-innings target for India.
