With the coronavirus outbreak bringing all sports activities to a halt, players are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic.

After a long time away from the pitch due to the pandemic situation, La Liga still hasn't confirmed when the league will resume again.

Recently, rumours started floating that the Spanish league will be back underway on June 20 after being halted for more than three months due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Along with most sporting events, the La Liga was also called-off until further notice back in March as a precautionary measure.

What fuelled the speculation that La Liga will be back on June 20 is due to Leganes manager Javier Aguirre's recent comments during an interview.

"There're no confirmed dates to return to competition," a La Liga spokesman was quoted as saying.

"We'll begin training sessions and then wait for the government's decision about the established dates. Our intention is to return to competition in June as long as the government decides it's ok to do so."

Aguirre, while speaking to Mexican website Marca Claro, disclosed that he had detailed info when the campaign would restart.

"We now have a start date for the league, we begin on June 20 and finish officially on July 26. We'll play 11 rounds of matches on Saturdays and Sundays and Wednesdays and Thursdays," said Aguirre.

However, La Liga is yet to confirm these reports and refused to make any comments over it. Teams have also returned back to training this month with players training in small groups to maintain safe distancing.
