Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI president, has been admitted to the hospital again after complaining of chest pain. According to reports, Sourav Ganguly has been admitted after he complained of uneasiness and chest pain last night. Earlier in 2021, Sourav Ganguly was discharged from Woodlands hospital on Jan 7 after he underwent angioplasty. This will be worrying for many fans of the Indian cricket team as Sourav Ganguly's health is closely monitored at the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata. Earlier, Sourav Ganguly was hospitalised at 1 pm on January 2 with "chest discomfort, heaviness of head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness" while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium at around 11 am. Following this, doctors had conducted angioplasty on him. On January 2, 48-year-old Ganguly was tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which turned out to be negative.

When Sourav Ganguly had come to the hospital earlier, the hospital conducted tests in which he had suffered a mild heart attack and the former India skipper had blockages in three coronary arteries. "He came in good time. One of his arteries had a critical blockage which we removed through angioplasty," Aftab Khan, a cardiologist, told reporters outside the hospital."He has improved, the pain in his chest has reduced. He is stable now. He has to be kept under observation for 24 hours so he will have to stay in hospital." The private hospital formed a medical board and they were regularly updating the media on Sourav Ganguly’s health.

After being discharged from the hospital, Sourav Ganguly kept a close watch on the Indian cricket team's progress in Australia. After the win in Melbourne, Sourav Ganguly had tweeted, "A special win at MCG ..India loves playing here ..well done Ajinkya Rahane @ajinkyarahane88..good people finish first too.. congratulations to all..@imjadeja, @ashwinravi99.best of luck for the next 2 games @bcci." After the draw in Sydney, Sourav Ganguly said, "Hope all of us realise the importance of pujara, pant and Ashwin in cricket teams..batting at 3 in test cricket against quality bowling is not always hitting through the line ..almost 400 test wickets don't come just like that.. well-fought India..time to win the series @bcci." After the win in Brisbane, Ganguly was elated and announced prize money of Rs 5 crore when he said, "Just a remarkable win...To go to Australia and win a test series in this way ..will be remembered in the history of Indian cricket forever ..Bcci announces a 5 cr bonus for the team ..The value of this win is beyond any number ..well done to every member of the touring party.."

Ganguly the key behind India's success

The former left-handed batsman, who retired from international cricket in 2008, played 113 Tests and 311 one-dayers and led India to 21 test wins. Under his captaincy, India won Tests in England and Australia after close to or over two decades. India also managed to win a series in Pakistan for the first time. Under his captaincy, India managed to stage a remarkable renaissance in their cricket following the match-fixing scandal that had eroded fan trust in 2000. India also managed to reach the final of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup but they lost to Australia in the final in Johannesburg.

As BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly has been instrumental in ensuring India also laps up the Pink Ball Test and has been a big fan of this variation of cricket.
