A massive controversy broke during the decider Twenty20 International (T20I) between Bangladesh and West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Saturday.
The on-field umpire Tanvir Ahmed called West Indian pacer Oshane Thomas for overstepping on a ball he got Liton Das out caught.
However, the replays, which were also played out on the big screen, confirmed that Thomas had a significant part of his heel behind the crease at the first point of contact.

Windies skipper Carlos Brathwaite seemed furious on watching it on the big screen and immediately asked the umpire to use the DRS to review it. After a few discussions, the umpires allowed Braithwaite to take it upstairs.
Making the situation worse, umpire Ahmed, after discussion on his walkie-talkie, signalled Das out as well.
However the fourth umpire and match referee, Jeff Crowe quickly stepped in to handle the situation. They were joined by Brathwaite West Indian team management and Bangladeshi skipper, Shakib Al Hasan and following their discussion, the original decision of Das not out was withstood and a free-hit was signalled.
The commentator on-air, Gautam Bhimani, soon cleared matter on air by reading out a statement from the third umpire, which stated that "the very fact that the on-field umpire called a no-ball is the decision of the on-field umpire and has to be accepted as an error and CANNOT be reviewed," which comes under ICC's section 3.1.1. and 3.1.2.
This incident took place during Bangladesh's chase of 191, a target set by West Indies in the decider match on Saturday. Braithwaite's boys won the match by 50 runs and sealed the three-T20 series 2-1.
