Earlier, it was known that the 33-year-old Raina was eager to make a comeback into the national side, as per his recent claims amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

However, the swashbuckling left-hander decided to hang his boots at the highest level and the reason might be revealed later by the southpaw.

For now, Raina is busy preparing hard for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, where he will represent the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

The left-hander, on Sunday (August 16), shared an intense training session at the gym. Raina took to his official Instagram handle and wrote, "Am coming home".

Raina has been sharing several workout videos during the COVID-19 lockdown period. In IPL 2019, the left-hander didn't enjoy a stellar run, with 383 runs but at a strike-rate of 121.97. So, coming into the new edition, he will want to make amends and turn the tides in his favour.

Talking about CSK, the Yellow Army will look to go full throttle having missed the coveted title last year by one run to arch-rival Mumbai Indians (MI).
