Bangladesh were out for 123 runs in 29.3 overs while chasing a target of 339.

Akila Dananjaya claimed five wickets in his Test debut. He had eight wickets on debut, including his 3/20 in the first innings.

The spin trio of Dananjaya, Dilruwan Perera and Rangana Herath shared all the Bangladesh second-innings wickets. Dananjaya returned figures of 5/24 while left-arm spinner Herath had figures of 4/49 and Perera 1/32.

Herath became the highest wicket-taker in Tests as a left-arm bowler, eclipsing Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram's 414 wickets.

Mominul Haque was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in the second innings with 33 while Mushfiqur Rahim made 25.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were all out for 226 in their second innings, securing a lead of 338 runs. Bangladesh had scored 110 in its first innings.
