Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper and former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his witty and hilarious responses in post-match ceremonies and press conferences and he presented another example of the same after his side's 7-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday evening.

Rajasthan Royals chased down the target of 190 runs in just 17.3 overs on a good Abu Dhabi surface after CSK posted a total of 189 runs owing to the opener Ruturaj Gaikwad's maiden century and Ravindra Jadeja's spectacular finish of 32* off just 15 balls.

Asked what would have been a par score on that surface, Dhoni sarcastically said, "250 would've been closer to par, given the way they were batting, still 17 deliveries to go and they slowed down in the middle so my only thought was to drag the game as long as possible."

Dhoni said that it was a bad toss to lose as the dew and the roller made the wicket flatter in the second innings but praised the RR batter saying that they still needed to bat well and their opener put the bowlers under the pressure and finished the game in first six overs itself.

Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal launched a massive attack in the powerplay scoring 75 runs in the first five overs as the latter brought up his maiden IPL fifty in just 19 balls. After both got out in quick succession, it was Shivam Dube, who maintained the tempo for the Royals as never in the chase it looked like CSK had any chance.

Asked if they can just forget about this game and if that is easy to do, Dhoni said, "Well you have to because, in a tournament like this, you go through a few games every season which you want to forget. But not to just forget, still to learn what we could have done because the same thing can happen in the knockout stages and no point in thinking at that time we should have learned slightly more from the Rajasthan game, because a s a unit we want to learn from each and every game as we couldn't have score more than 190-200 runs."

CSK suffered only their third loss of the IPL 2021 as they look top contenders along with the Delhi Capitals to finish in the top two, whom they face next on Monday, October 4.
