Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has become viewers' favourite (since there are no crowds) with his antics and stuff he says behind the stumps. While his babysitting banter with Australian skipper Tim Paine during India's last tour to Australia and his 'Come on Ash' to cheer up off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have become a rage amongst the viewers, the 23-year old has added wit and more humour to his sayings and the stump mic chatter has become a thing to look forward to when India is in the field.

While his recent 'Spiderman Spiderman' during the Australia series was even lauded by the ICC, Pant has shown that he has enough and more material for the viewers to keep engaged and entertained throughout the duration of India's bowling innings, even if it stretches to 190 overs as it did in the first Test against England in Chennai.

From puns on the players' names to PJs and lifting his teammates' spirits, Rishabh Pant exhibited the whole range of his stuff in the first match. Here are a few of the stuff he spoke during the game:

  • Mera naam hai Washington, Mereko jana hai DC (My name is Washington, I have to go to DC) – This was in reference to India's newest all-rounder in Test arena Washington Sundar and his name's similarity with the United States city, as he cheered the newcomer during one of his overs.
  • Arey review nahi hai bhai (There’s no review, brother) – This was to Shahbaz Nadeem when he wanted a DRS for an lbw call against England batsman Ollie Pope. There was an edge and so Pant stopped his teammate from going for the review after an LBW aappeal.
  • Ball banana padega, mehnat karna padega, chalo yaar, shabaash. Body language utha k bhaiyo (We will have to create chances, work hard, let’s go guys! Come on! We have to up our Body language) – Pant motivated his teammates when one of the fielders misfielded in the outfield.
  • Bowling Ash! Idhar se fasega to maza aaega (Well bowled, Ash! It will be fun if he’s trapped from this side) – to Ravichandran Ashwin as he tried to outfox England opener Joe Burns on Day 1.
  • Yeh do shot hi maarega – sweep ya reverse (He’ll play only two shots – sweep or reverse) – Pant suggested to spinner Nadeem on how he should bowl to England skipper Joe Root.
  • Chalo Chalo Chalo Yaar Thoda Mahoul Banao (Come on guys! Let’s lift up the mood) – Pant said this during the phase when England were on the top and piling on runs.
  • Bhaiyon Kya Ho Gaya? Thoda Tight Ho Jao! (Guys, what has happened? Pull up your socks!) – Again, Pant tried to lift the spirits of his teammates.
  • Bhagna Padega Puj (You will have to run, Puj) – When Cheteshwar Pujara was chasing a delivery while fielding, when it was going towards the boundary.
  • Pujendra – He gave a nickname for Pujara
  • Narendra  – He gave a nickname for Nadeem
