Indian YouTube stars give 'awesome' reply to Pakistan's Abhinandan ad in viral video, Twitter says 'bahot hard'
The video featuring banter between Indian and Pakistan supporters is going viral on social media.
The heat is on. While India will take on Pakistan on the field in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the war social media is already raging on full intensity. There have been highly controversial ads in both the countries with aim to draw attention using these emotions.
An advertisement by a Pakistani TV channel mocking IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has not gone down well with Indian fans.
IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan after his Mig went down during the air fight between the two countries. During his capture, a video showing him being interrogated by Pakistan officials had emerged. In the video, that went viral, Varthaman could be seen replying -- "I'm sorry, I am not supposed to tell you this" to the questions asked to him during captivity.
In the advertisement, a lookalike character of Varthaman, sporting his trademark gunslinger mustache can be seen repeating 'I'm sorry, I am not supposed to tell you this' in response to questions asked about the match. The character, wearing a blue jersey, is also holding a white teacup. As he walks out, the cup is taken back referring to the ICC Cricket World Cup.
hile many have criticised the ad as "cheap" and "shameful", some had fans had are replying with 'creativity' of their own.
A recent takedown of the ad is going viral on Indian social media. The video created by YouTube channel 'V Seven Pictures' is doing the rounds of social media after it was shared on Twitter. The video shows banter between an Indian and a Pakistani fan. It also alludes to the whole Abhinandan saga with a twist.
