A look at the records set by Rohit Sharma and Team India during the 2nd T20I against New Zealand.

India stand-in captain Rohit Sharma on Friday became the highest run-getter in the Twenty20 Internationals, surpassing New Zealand's Martin Guptill. Rohit achieved the feat in style, clobbering leg-spinner Ish Sodhi over the fine-leg boundary for a six during India's chase of 159 runs in the second T20 International against New Zealand.

Coming onto the match, Rohit needed just 35 runs to surpass Guptill (2272 runs), who didn't play Friday's match and the right-hander slammed a 29-ball 50 before being dismissed.  Rohit (2288), who achieved the feat in 93 matches, also went past Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik (2263), who is third in the list. India captain Virat Kohli (2167 runs) is placed fourth in the chart ahead of former New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum (2140).

Rohit, who failed in the first T20, also became the third player in the history of T20 cricket after Guptill and Chris Gayle to hit 100 sixes.

Rohit Shamra now lead the chart for most runs in T20I cricket with 2288 runs followed by Martin Guptill (2272 runs), Shoaib Malik (2263), Virat Kohli (2167 runs) and Brendon McCullum (2140).

Rohit Sharma has now hit most sixes for India in international cricket. With his 4th six in during his half-century on Friday, he went past MS Dhoni (348). Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle have hit most sixes in international cricket at 476 followed by Brendon McCullum (398) and Sanath Jayasuriya (352). 

Rohit Sharma is the first Indian to hit 100 sixes in T20I cricket. Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill are the other batsmen to have hit 100 big ones on T20Is.

Rohit Sharma now has 20 fifty-plus scores (4 centuries and 16 half-centuries) in T20I cricket. He went past Virat Kohli's 19 with Friday's innings. Martin Guptill has 16 fifty-plus scores in T20Is.

India is now the home of leading run-scorers in all three formats of cricket. While Rohit Sharma became the leading run-getter in T20Is on Friday with 2288 runs, Sachin Tendulkar leads the list in Test and ODI cricket with 15921 and 18426 runs respectively. 

This is India's first win in New Zealand in T20Is. They lost all the three T20Is which they played before.
