Prithvi Shaw on Thursday become the 15th Indian to score a debut Test hundred. The 18-year-old right-hander from Mumbai smashed 134 against West Indies in Rajkot to announce his arrival at the international stage.

Prithvi joins an elite list of Indian players who scored a hundred on Test debut.

Lala Amarnath was the first Indian player to score a hundred on Test debut. He registered a score of 118 in the second innings of his very first Test. The knock came against England at the Bombay Gymkhana in 1933.

Deepak Shodhan scored 110, batting at No.8, in his debut Test. The innings was played against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 1952.

Amritsar Govindsingh Kripal Singh scored an unbeaten 100 in the first innings of his debut Test. The knock came against New Zealand in 1955-56. That hundred at Hyderabad, however, was Kripal Singh's only Test ton.
