Prithvi Shaw becomes the 15th Indian to score a debut Test century, here's the complete list

Lala Amarnath was the first Indian player to score a hundred on Test debut. He registered a score of 118 in the second innings of his very first Test. The knock came against England at the Bombay Gymkhana in 1933.

Deepak Shodhan scored 110, batting at No.8, in his debut Test. The innings was played against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 1952.

Amritsar Govindsingh Kripal Singh scored an unbeaten 100 in the first innings of his debut Test. The knock came against New Zealand in 1955-56. That hundred at Hyderabad, however, was Kripal Singh's only Test ton.

In 1959, Abbas Ali Baig became the first Indian to score a debut Test ton on foreign shores. He smashed 112 against England in Manchester.

Hanumant Singh registered a score of 105 in his very first Test innings. The grandnephew of Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji, he achieved the feat against England in 1963.

Gundappa Vishwanath got out on a duck in his first Test innings. But in his second innings in the same match, he smacked a brilliant 137 against a top Australian attack. The match was played in Kanpur in 1969.

Surinder Amarnath replicated the feat his father Lala had achieved. Brother of the legendary Mohinder Amarnath, he scored 124 on debut in the 1975 Test against New Zealand at Auckland.

Mohammad Azharuddin scored 110 in his debut Test against England at the Eden Gardens in 1984. The former India captain went on to get hundreds in his second and third Tests as well.

Pravin Amre smashed 103 in his first Test innings against a quality South African attack. The knock was played in Durban in 1992.

In 1996, Sourav Ganguly became only the third player to score a debut Test hundred at Lord's. His knock of 131 against England is still fresh in the minds of Indian cricket fans.

Virender Sehwag caught the imagination of the cricketing world with a brilliant 105 against South Africa in his first Test innings. That knock at Bloemfontein in 2001 announced the arrival of one of India's greatest batsmen.

Suresh Raina made his Test debut a little later than he would've liked, but the southpaw made the most of his opportunity by scoring 120 in his very first Test innings. The knock came at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo in 2010.

There have been many debut Test hundreds, but few have been as belligerent as Shikhar Dhawan's. The left-hander announced his arrival in the longest format of the game with a stunning 187 off 174 against Australia. The knock came at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, in 2013.

Rohit Sharma's Test debut was delayed due to an injury he suffered at an unfortunate moment. But the Mumbaikar made the most of his opportunity when he wore the Team India whites for the first time in 2013. Rohit smacked 177 against West Indies at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in his first Test innings.
