'Mute' Sanjay Manjrekar: Cricket fans on Twitter express anger over 'biased commentary'

Even celebs like actor Siddharth and cricketers like Shreevats Goswami complained about Sanjay Manjrekar.

Sanjay Manjrekar is one of the members of the elite commentary team for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The former Indian cricketer is veteran commentator and been a regular with the microphone for years.

However, it seems not everyone's a fan. Some cricket fans have been accusing Manjrekar of being biased towards certain players. On Tuesday, several cricket fans took to Twitter to complain about his commentary. The social media was soon flooded with tweets taking a shot at Manjrekar for his commentary. Many called him out for his biasedness, while some took a dig at him for criticising certain players while his own palying record  was not that great. 

It wasn't just the common cricket fans who reacted to Manjrekar this but even celebs like actor Siddharth and cricketers like Shreevats Goswami complained about him. Soon #SanjayManjrekar was one the top trends on Indian twitter.

Sanjay Manjrekar has been a traget on social media for a long time. However, on Tuesday, fans' frustration at him reached new peaks. There were several Twitter users who tweeted complaing about him or making fun of him. 

Sanjay Manjrekar had questioned MS Dhoni's batting in the previous two matches. This did not go down well with many Dhoni fans. Manjrekar was accused of anti-Dhoni bias. Some even questioned the credibility of Manjrekar for criticising a talent like MS Dhoni. 

As #SanjayManjrekar became one of the top trends on Twitter, many memes started doing the rounds on social media.  

A cricket fan had recently written a letter to the ICC complaining about Sanjay Manjrekar’s commentary in the ongoing Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

“Hey ICC! Greetings from Sydney, Australia. A bit of feedback about Sanjay Manjrekar, on your commentary panel, for CWC: I find him utterly biased and very unprofessional, behind the mic. He also sounds full of himself. Other than that, great World Cup. Thanks,” read the letter which was addressed to ICC’s head office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has hit back at former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for calling him a ‘bits and pieces’ player.  Jadeja said that he had heard enough of Manjrekar's verbal diarrhea.

Sanjay Manjrekar has said that he was not a fan of ‘bits and pieces’ players like Ravindra Jadeja. His comments came after it was suggested that Jadeja could be brought into the side for the Bangladesh match.

Jadeja hit back at Manjrekar on Wednesday and took to Twitter to express his anger. He pointed out that he has played double number of matches than Majrekar and asked him to respect people who have achieved (something).
