1.Who is Deepti Sharma?

Deepti Sharma is a talented Indian cricketer who plays for various teams including Uttar Pradesh, UP Warriorz, London Spirit, and Melbourne Stars. She is an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm off break. In 2018, she was ranked 3rd among all-rounders in the ICC Cricket Rankings and holds the record for the fourth highest individual score by a female cricketer in ODIs with 188 runs.
2.Early life

Deepti Sharma was born to Sushilaa and Bhagwan Sharma, and is the youngest among her siblings. Her father, a retired employee of the Indian Railways, instilled in her a passion for the game of cricket from a young age of 9.
3.Brother quit job and set up cricket academy

Sumit, Deepti's elder brother, was a cricketer who had to quit the game to start earning and support his family. After getting an MBA and a stable job earning Rs 30,000 a month, he left it to help his sister Deepti follow her passion for cricket. Sumit spent Rs 4 lakhs to set up a coaching camp for Deepti, with former Ranji Trophy player Bipin Avasthi as her coach.
4.Career

In 2014, Sharma made her ODI International debut against South Africa in Bengaluru. She set a world record with Poonam Raut for the highest opening partnership in ODI history, scoring 188 runs and breaking both the women's and men's records.
5.First Indian to complete 100 T20I wickets

Deepti Sharma made history as the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20Is during the Women's T20 World Cup match against West Indies Women.
6.UP Warriorz captain

Deepti Sharma has been named the captain of UP Warriorz for the 2025 season of the Women's Premier League, replacing Alyssa Healy who led the team for the previous two seasons.
