IPL 2019 RR vs KKR: Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine displayed great attacking batting as well as rode some luck as they made easy of a 140-run chase to guide Kolkata Knight to 8-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.

Chasing 140 for a win, Narine and Lynn shared 91 runs for the opening stand in 8.3 overs to take the game away from Rajasthan Royals as KKR reached the target with 6.1 overs to spare. Narine contributed 47, his best of this IPL season, from 25 balls from which he hit six fours and three sixes while Lynn made an exact 50 from 32 deliveries, with the help of six boundaries and three sixes.

When Rajasthan Royals batted, the slow track at Sawai Man Singh stadium looked like a difficult one with the ball not coming on to the bat easily, but the KKR batsmen made the nature of the track irrelevant with runs and boundaries coming thick and fast.

Earlier, Australian batsman Steve Smith scored 73 not out to anchor Rajasthan Royals to 139 for 3 in their IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Smith struck his first half-century of this IPL season as he remained not out on 73 off 59 deliveries after the home side were invited to bat on a tricky track.

On a slow track at the Sawai Man Singh stadium, the runs were a premium as the ball did not come on to the bat easily. The stadium was also engulfed by a sandstorm before the tie but the match started on time.

It was not easy to bat on the track. Jos Buttler and Steve Smith added 72 runs for the second wicket off 70 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders' bowlers did a great job as they kept the batting line-up of Rajasthan Royals silent for the most part of the innings. Debutant Harry Gurney was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for just 25 in his 4 overs. (Image: AFP)

Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine started with aggression against Rajasthan Royals bowling attack. They did not let the bowlers settle down.
