While all the players are making sure the trophy comes their way, many are also preparing for the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in England.

However, a main aspect of the IPL that no one really talks about is the Super Over. The over that can determine the fate of a match, gets everyone on the edge of their seat.

The Super Over rules is a better way of arriving at a just result than the bowl-out rules. Till date in IPL, there have been 7 tied matches that were decided by the Super Over tiebreakers.

Rajasthan Royals is one team that has been involved in the most number of Super Overs tiebreakers. They have been involved in 3 Super Over matches and have won 2 of them.

A look at the bowlers who could be the best during a Super Over crises in the IPL 2019:

In the recently concluded T20I series between South Africa and Sri Lanka, Imran Tahir bowled in the super over. Needing to defend 15 runs, Tahir gave away just 4 runs bowling to big-hitter Thisara Perera.

For CSK, Dwayne Bravo would have been the obvious choice. However, the champion has been expensive in the death overs.

Tahir could surprise the opposition and also take a couple of wickets in the Super over.

Kolkata Knight Rider’s allrounder Sunil Narine would be the apparent choice to bowl the Super Over.

KKR do have many options like Andre Russel and Kuldeep Yadav, still, Sunil Narine could be chosen as the bowler has proven to be good in Super Over.

In the CPL in 2014, playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors, Narine bowled a maiden Super Over against Red Steel.

Indian cricket team’s dependable bowler Jasprit Bumrah has proved what wonders he can do with his bowling.

The Mumbai Indians bowler is known to be death over specialist and could deliver his yorkers at will and hit the stumps when needed.

Bumrah has and will continue to pose a threat to the wicket and the limbs of the batsmen.

New Zealand’s strike bowler, Trent Boult will be the option Delhi Capitals would choose for such a tight situation.

Despite having bowlers like Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada, Boult the best for the team. Morris could prove to be expensive while Rabada and his extra pace could travel the distance.

However, Boult is a more controlled strike bowler and hence a better choice.

Kings XI Punjab which led by spinner R Ashwin, and has bowlers like Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Sam Curran, a better choice in a super over situation would be Andrew Tye.

The Australian bowler is a specialist death bowler like a Dwayne Bravo. With his accurate yorkers and slower deliveries, he could prove lethal to the batsmen.

The Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore should go with a bowler like Tim Southee who has a lot of experience in death over.

Southee bowled one of the best Super Overs in a T20I at Christchurch against Australia in 2010. He gave away only 6 runs only in that over to take New Zealand to victory in the tiebreaker.

Though RCB have Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, Southee would be the better bet to bowl the Super Over.

Rajasthan Royals have Jofra Archer, Oshane Thomas and Ben Stokes as the options. However, after what happened to Ben Stokes at Eden Gardens in ICC T20I World Cup 2016 final, the skipper might not prefer to go with him.

There may be a bright chance for Indian left-arm fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat. With his natural outside the off-stump angle to right-handers, Unadkat is an effective wicket-taking bowler in the Super Over.

Rashid Khan has been the most talked about bowler and his tactics even got the fans talking. People even wanted this Afghanistan player to take Indian citizenship and play for India.

Now playing of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, he along with skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar are two best options.

No other IPL team has two quality bowlers to help them in the super over. While Rashid Khan, being a spinner, can be a more controlled bowler, Bhuvi has the ability to pin down batsmen with his immaculate yorkers.
