KXIP vs KKR Live Score, IPL 2019: Shubman Gill (65 not out) was the standout performer as Kolkata Knight Riders beat Kings XI Punjab by 7 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 on Friday. The win took them one step closer to the playoff stage. Kings XI Punjab, at the other hand, are all but out of playoff contention after the match.

Earlier, Sam Curran (55*) and Nicholas Pooran (48) had taken Kings XI Punjab to 183 for 6 after being invited to bat first.

Chris Lynn gave Kolkata a flying start before he fell for 46 off the final ball of the powerplay. Shubman Gill and Robin Uthappa then took KKR past 100 in the 11th over. Robbie (22) was dismissed by R Ashwin which brought in Andre Russell to the middle. Russell played some big shot before departing for 24. Gill and Dinesh Karthik (21*)  then took KKR over the line in 18 overs.

IPL 2019 KXIP vs KKR: Live Scorecard

Batting first, Punjab lost the wicket of KL Rahul (2) in the third over as he was caught by Chris Lynn of Sandeep Warrier's bowling. Warrier then got the wicket of Chris Gayle in his next over to make it 22/2. However, there was no respite for KKR bowlers as Nicholas Pooran went after the attack and was ably supported by Mayank Agarwal at the other end. They took Punjab to 84 in 10 overs.

However, Dinesh Karthik's inspired bowling change in form of Nitish Rana worked as Pooran was caught at the boundary after scoring 48 off 27 balls. Mayank Agarwal was then, unfortunately, run out for 36 making it 111/4 in 13.3 overs. Mandeep Singh and Sam Curran added 38 runs for the fifth wicket. Mandeep (25) was dismissed by Harry Gurney. Andre Russell then sent back Ashwin for a duck.

Sam Curran played a brilliant knock of 55 (off 24 balls) not out as Kings XI Punjab reached 183 for 6.
