1.Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have retained 18 players including their skipper Rohit Sharma but released some top international stars like JP Duminy and fast bowling duo of Pat Cummins and Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman. The franchise has also released 10 players which include one capped, five uncapped and four international cricketers. Mumbai Indians have also released domestic players like Saurabh Tiwary, Pradeep Sangwan, Sharad Lumba, Tajinder Singh Dhillon, Mohsin Khan and Kerala's MD Nidheesh. Rohit, the most successful captain in IPL, will continue to lead the team next season.

2.Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals released the costliest Indian player in IPL 2018 auction Jaydev Unadkat but retained their another million dollar buy Ben Stokes. Unadkat was picked up by Rajasthan last time around for Rs 11.5 crore. Steve Smith has been retained after missing the 2018 IPL due to the suspension. Apart from Unadkat, the Royals have released nine other players, which include 5 international players.

3.Chennai Super Kings
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings has retained most of the winning squad of 2019 and released just three players - Mark Wood, Kanishk Seth, Kshitiz Sharma. Wood played only one game last season for CSK and conceded 49 runs in four overs. Both Kanishk Seth and Kshitiz Sharma are uncapped players. New Zealand allrounder Mitchell Santner, who missed the 2018 season due to a knee injury has been retained along with his replacement David Willey.

4.Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals (earlier Delhi Daredevils) have gone for a complete overhaul for another new season. Gautam Gambhir has been released after a poor showing last season. Apart from Gambhir, Delhi also released Jason Roy, Junior Dala, Liam Plunkett, Mohammed Shami, Sayan Ghosh, Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Naman Ojha. They have been boosted by the inclusion of local boy Shikhar Dhawan. They traded Dhawan, who is valued at Rs 5.2 crore, from Sunrisers Hyderabad and in return gave them allrounder Shankar (Rs 3.2 crore), under-19 batsman Abhishek Sharma (Rs 55 lakh), and left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem (Rs 3.2 crore).

5.Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) released Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who missed the previous two seasons. They also released Mitchell Johnson, Tom Curran, Cameron Delport, Javon Searles and veteran pacer Vinay Kumar. However, Kamlesh Nagarkoti kept his place despite not playing a single game in IPL 2018. His replacement Prasidh Krishna has also been retained.

6.Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore were traded South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock to Mumbai Indians for a cash deal worth Rs 2.8 crore. They also traded batsman Mandeep Singh to Kings XI Punjab for Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Brendon McCullum was the biggest name among the players released by the Virat Kohli-led side.

7.Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad have made some big changes to their squad going into the auction next month. Apart from trading Shikhar Dhawan, Sunrisers have dumped injured Wriddhiman Saha along and West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite. They also bid farewell to opener Alex Hales who was the replacement for David Warner. Former captain Warner, who is serving a one-year ban due to ball-tampering charges, is still part of the Sunrisers squad.

8.Kings XI Punjab
Yuvraj Singh was released by Kings XI Punjab ahead of the Indian Premier League auction next month. KXIP made the maximum number of changes to the existing squad during the transfer window. The Priety Zinta-owned side retained only ten players from last season. Yuvraj, who last played for India in June 2017, was bought by KXIP at a base price of Rs 2 crore at the mega auction held in January. Chris Gayle, who too was lapped up by KXIP at his base price of Rs 2 crore, has been retained.
