India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I Result: New Zealand beat India by 4 runs in thrilling finish in the third and final T20I to win the series 2-1. India lost wickets in quick succession after Vijay Shankar and Rishabh Pant had kept them ahaead of asking rate chasing 213 runs. They lost Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni in 3 overs as pressure mounted. Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya kept them in the game but couldn't take them over the line.

Earlier, exploiting batting friendly conditions at a small ground, New Zealand cut the Indian attack to shreds to post an imposing 212 for four. Opener Colin Munro produced a 40-ball 72 and shared a 80-run stand with fellow opener Tim Seifirt (43) to lay foundation for a big score after India captain Rohit Sharma elected to bowl. Runs came thick and fast as skipper Kane Williamson contributed 27 and Colin de Grandhomme produced a crucial 30-run cameo off 16-balls.

Shikhar Dhawan (30) and Vijay Shankar (14) moved the chase ahead before Rishabh Pant (40*) and MS Dhoni (20*) took India home in the 19th over. New Zealand has own the first T20I in Wellington.

Some good hitting by Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya meant India needed 30 off last two overs. DK and Krunal then each struck a six off the penultimate over to take 14 runs from it. However, Dinesh Karthik failed to get the big shot off the first four balls- 2,0,0,1. He hits a six off the last ball but its too late by then.
