Ashwin was the show-stopper for India on the third day as he played a knock of 106 runs and then bagged a crucial wicket of opener Rory Burns (25). Ravichandran Ashwin notched up his 5th Test century, first against West Indies.

Ashwin had to wait for almost five years to get a three-figure mark in the longest format after his knock of 118 against the West Indies at Gros Islet in 2016. This was also Ashwin's first fifty-plus score at home since December 2016.

He continued his good form on Day 4 as he sent back Daniel Lawrence for 26 courtesy of Rishabh Pant's exceptional stumping. Ashwin struck again after drinks and this time it was his favourite Ben Stokes who was sent back for just 8.
