The day one action came to an end with Team India trailing by 64 runs after sweeping out Bangladesh for 150 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Thursday in Indore.

India smashed 86 runs and lost one wicket on the day. Openers Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma came in to bat for the home side as Sharma departed for 6 runs after losing his wicket early to Abu Jayed at the score of 14/1 in 7.2 overs.

Cheteshwar Pujara then came in and formed a partnership with Agarwal and knitted together an unbeaten knock of 72 runs for the second wicket.

Agarwal (37*) and Pujara (43*) will be looking to secure their half-century when play resumes on day two.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first after in the first Test of the two-match series.

The tourists lost their two openers early on in the innings as Imrul Kyles (6) and Shadman Islam (6) threw away their wickets cheaply.

Mohammad Mithun and skipper Mominul Haque formed a short partnership of 19 runs for the third wicket before Indian pacer Mohammed Shami dismissed Mithun after scoring 13 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim soon came in and joined Haque and stitched together a much-needed partnership of 68-run for the away side fourth wicket before Ravichandran Ashwin gave India the breakthrough.

While Haque scored 37 runs, Mahmudullah and Rahim added 16-run for the fifth wicket.

It was Ashwin again to break the partnership, removing Mahmudullah for 10 runs.

It was Rahim and Liton Das's final stand of 25 runs which boosted Bangladesh before Rahim (43) was removed by Shami as the Bengal Tigers stood on 140/6.

After Rahim's dismissal, Bangladesh kept on losing wickets cheaply and were soon all-out for 150.

Indian bowlers were fantastic in Indore as Shami picked up three wickets with Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Ashwin securing two wickets each for their troubles.

India vs Bangladesh: Live Scorecard

1. Bangladesh win toss and opt to bat first

Bangladesh win toss and opt to bat first
1/11

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. This decision somehow did not interrupt India's plan.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, "It has a bit of grass on it and historically Indore on day 1 has been bit spicy plus we are playing three seamers. We wanted to bowl first but we also want batsmen to bat in tough conditions. It's ideal for our seamers who are in top form. I think, from day 2 onwards it will be a beautiful track to bat on. We are playing two spinners as well so we have covered for the third innings as well. Nadeem is not a part of this eleven and Ishant Sharma replaces him purely on the basis of the pitch.".

After beating the outside edge for the umpteenth time, Umesh Yadav has finally got what he wanted.

It was on a length, as the ball snakes away from Kayes to find the outside edge. The ball hits the bat very high and Rahane snaffles it at gully!

If Yadav can get a wicket, so can Ishant.

Just after Yadav gives India its first wicket, Ishant strikes a too full and Shadman Islam saw it as a scoring opportunity.

However, he was looking to drive it away from the body but it stuck in the crease while doing so, and went just enough to clip the outside edge.

Saha makes no mistake and took it with fingers pointing up.

Shadman Islam c W Saha b Ishant 6(24) [4s-1]

India have their third wicket. This was full and came back with the angle, skidded through and Mithun was clearly late to counter it.

The ball struck in front of middle and leg as he fell across.

Soon after the tea break, Ishant Sharma gets India a team hat-trick.

Ishant got it to deviate off the deck just a wee bit and that was good enough for Liton Das.

He poked it slightly away, and the ball kissed the outside edge and Kohli caught it at first slip.

Taijul Islam completes a run and gets out. He tucks it wide of fine leg and thought about stealing a second run against Jadeja's arm.

Jadeja throws at the striker's end and Taijul Islam was well short of the crease.

Taijul Islam run out (Jadeja/W Saha) 1(7)

Umesh Yadav, on the other hand, bowled Ebadat Hossain to end the Bangladesh innings.

Ebadat Hossain stayed leg-side of the ball and never got behind it. The ball rips past his defence and cannons into his off-stump!

Bangladesh all out for just 150.

Bangladesh needed a little happiness and they found it as Abu Jayed's ball dismissed Rohit Sharma.

This was pushed up and in that channel around off, no feet movement as Rohit went for a lazy drive, didn't get anywhere near the pitch of the ball and all he managed was a thin feather.

Liton grabs the ball as the stadium become silent.
