Team India cruised to a seven-wicket win against Australia in the third and final ODI match at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (January 19).

With this win, the home side also secured the three-match series win by 2-1 losing the first match.

In chase of a healthy total of 287, openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave India the perfect start and formed a 61-run formation for the first wicket before Ashton Agar removed Rahul (19) in the 13th over.

During the game, Rohit also became the third-quickest batsman to smash 9,000 ODI runs. He also brought up his half-century in the 15th over of the match.

Skipper Virat Kohli came in and formed a formidable partnership with Sharma, as the duo kept playing bigs shots to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Rohit also secured his eighth-century against the Aussies in the 30th over, with Kohli also bringing up his 50 in the 36th over.

The kangaroos did finally manage the dismiss India's vice-captain, who departed after scoring 119 runs as the home side lost their second wicket on the chase.

Shreyas Iyer walked in next and provided some much-needed support to Kohlo as the pair knitted together a 68 run stand before Aussie pacer Josh Hazelwood clean bowled Kohli on 89.

Iyer stayed unbeaten in the end on 44* runs with Manish Pandey (8*), as the pair boosted India to a seven-wicket win with 15 balls to spare.

Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The visitors got off to a sticky start after losing both their openers, Aaron Finch and David Warner, early on in the match.

It was thanks to Australia's 'Mr Reliable', Steve Smith, that the tourists managed to reach a total of 286/9 from their allocated 50 overs.

The perfect set-up, getting one to take off from a length and making Warner hesitant on the shot on this ball.

The ball angles across the left-hander and just nibbles enough. Warner tries to hit but gets a thick outside edge through to Rahul behind the stumps.
