The Indian cricket team is going to go retro for the limited overs series that will be played against Australia in November-December. The retro look of the Indian cricket team will feature an Indigo Blue jersey followed by the three strips on the shoulder of the jersey which indicates the Indian flag. The retro jersey was first introuced in the 1992 World Cup and India had won the same jersey during their sojourn in Australia and New Zealand.

The retro look was the first time that the Cricket World Cup was played in colour. After the World Cups of 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1987 featured white clothing, the 1992 World Cup changed the way cricket competitions would be played. This would be the first time that matches would be played in Day-Night situations. Two new balls from each end were introduced and it was the first time that the tournament would be played in Australia and New Zealand. 28 years later, India is all set to unveil their retro look with many players sportting the look and appreciating it. Although India failed to achieve much in the 1992 World Cup, there is a feeling that Virat Kohli's team will be determined to repeat their success of the 2018/19 series that saw them win the ODIs and Tests 2-1 while the T20Is were drawn 1-1.

On his Twitter handle, he wrote, "Look what I found myself! The original jersey of the 1992 @ICC @cricketworldcup, still fits me very well. It brought back all the fond memories, what a tournament it was, as the great Richie Benaud would say on air: simply superb!" (Image credit: Kiran More Twitter)
