Hardik Pandya has left for New Zealand to join Indian cricket team after BCCI lifted the suspensions on him and KL Rahul over their controvesial comments during a TV appearance. Pandya is expected to feture in the team for the remaining ODIs againt New Zealand, while KL Rahul is likely to play for India-A. However, the probe into their comments will continue.

Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, suspended for their controversial comments during a TV chat show, have already tendered "unconditional" apologies on Monday. 

Hardik Pandya has been heavily criticised on social media for remarks that have been widely condemned as sexist and inappropriate made on the show where he appeared with Rahul. Pandya had boasted about hooking up with multiple women and being open about it with his parents during the interview. Rahul was, however, a shade more restrained in his responses.

The comments sparked a massive social media outrage with calling the remark 'crass' and 'sexist'. It prompted the Indian cricket board to issue show cause notice to the duo.

On the show, Hardik Pandya boasted about hooking up with multiple women and even spoke about how open he is with his parents. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI), however, was not satisfied with the apology. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) sent show cause notices to both the players hours after Pandya issued his apology on Twitter. The duo have been given 24 hours to reply to the notices.

According to a source, Pandya's comments might have a bearing on whether Indian cricketers appear on "such non-cricket shows" after this. Hardik Pandya’s apology did not go down well with CoA chief Vinod Rai and he recommended a two-ODI ban for both Pandya and KL Rahul. According to the e-mail written by Rai to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, the comments made by the cricketers were "very crass”.
