Happy Friendship Day: From online banter between KXIP, DC to MI, SRH sharing pics, who said IPL rivals can't be friends?

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have shared the bond the teammates have with each other and with also their on-field rivals.

While all depend on families and partners for support in times of crisis, close friends are the ones with whom one can be their true self.

Be it spending time with them or discussing the highs and lows, true friends are always there in time of need. While today (August 2) on Friendship Day, which is observed on the first Sunday of August each year, should have seen celebrations between friends and their close bond, all are stuck inside their homes due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

While it is needed to stay safe by being indoors and maintaining social distancing, it does not mean that one should stay emotionally distant.

Taking friendship to another level, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have shared the bond the teammates have with each other and with also their on-field rivals.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) took to Twitter to celebrate Friendship Day and shared pictures of various matches. However, they mentioned Delhi Capitals (DC) saying they don't have good photos.

KXIP on Twitter wrote, "@DelhiCapitals is that best friend who you don’t have a good picture with. Dilliwalon, thodi help karoge #HappyFriendshipDay #SaddaPunjab"

DC soon shared an image and wrote: "#FriendshipDay pe hum aap ki help na karein, aisa ho sakta hai kya? After all, that's what friends are for yaar".

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a collage of their player and captioned it: "Alexa play "I'll be there for you"

Mumbai Indians (MI) shared a number of memorable pictures of players from Sachin Tendulkar to Hardik Pandya to celebrate Friendship Day.

MI captioned the images, "To friends that became #OneFamily. Happy #FriendshipDay, Paltan".

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) shared a special chat between New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum and England's Eoin Morgan.

KKR captioned the chat: "Our friendship is lifelong!" @Bazmccullum and @Eoin16. Setting the bar high with friendship goals." 

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took to social media and shared a video of the friendship between Thala MS Dhoni & Chinna Thala Suresh Raina.

CSK captioned the video, "F.R.7.3.N.D.S - together in the pursuit of perfect10n, for a perfect den. #WhistlePodu #Yellove #FriendshipDay".

Delhi Capitals (DC) shared images of their players having a fun chat on-field with rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

DC on Twitter wrote, "No shortage of entertainment or valuable advice coming from our friends in @RCBTweets".

They started this tread with images of players with Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricketers.

Rajasthan Royals also made sure to make the Friendship Day spicy. They shared images with their rivals and wrote, "Keep your friends close and your competitors closer".
