World Cup 2019: Kane Williamson anchored New Zealand to a tense four-wicket victory over South Africa at Edgbaston.
Williamson was lucky when the Proteas failed to review an edge from the Kiwi captain.
The Black Caps' captain was on 76 when he got a faint edge to a ball from leg-spinner Imran Tahir that Quinton de Kock took behind the stumps.
The Proteas, however, did not appeal and ask for a review, despite replays clearly showing a bottom edge.
While some fans have started questioning why the skipper did not walk despite being caught behind, some defended the decision. There were even some who compared him to Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Virat kohli walking without even edge and kane Williamson is still playing after the edge..kya din aagaya hai #NZvSA

Good boy Kane Williamson did not walk even after clearly nicking the ball to the keeper off Tahir.

And then there is a "Spoilt Brat" Virat Kohli declared himself out even when he was clearly Not out.#INDvsPAK #SAvNZ #CWC19
Kane Williamson being the Captain of NZ team should have set an example and walked off like Virat Kohli who walked off because he felt he nicked even though bowler and keeper did not appeal. Very shameful. SA should have asked for the review as replay showed there was a nick.

There are two kinds of people in the world - One is Virat Kohli type and the other one is Kane Williamson type. Completely opposite but equally amazing. #NZvSA

No! #Proteas just can't get a break. Tahir finds the edge of Williamson's bat but only he appeals. It's official, the cricket gods hate #SouthAfrica.

Oh, and from his reaction Kane knew he hit it. Pity honesty has no place in professional sport. #NZvSA #CWC19
Shame on Kane Williamson... Could have walked when edged #NZvSA

South Africa is again choking!!
Kane Williamson should have walked off. As he holds honesty and sportsman spirit at highest standard!!
Honestly his smile clearly indicated he nicked it!
3. 'De Kock has become desensitized'

That "edge" off Tahir that was missed by everybody just proved once again that the #Proteas and World Cups just don't go together @IOLsport #NZvSA #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/p0lAC4dDjj
